This unit is part of the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care and has the following learning outcomes and assessment criteria:

  1. Understand what is required for competence in own work role
    1. 1.1 Explain the duties and responsibilities of own work role
    2. 1.2 Explain expectations about own work role as expressed in relevant standards
    3. 1.3 Describe ways to ensure that personal attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of own work
    4. 1.4 Explain why competence includes using own behaviour to model person-centred values and practice
  2. Be able to reflect on practice
    1. 2.1 Explain the cyclical process of reflection
    2. 2.2 Explain the importance of reflective practice in continuously improving the quality of service provided
    3. 2.3 Reflect on day to day work practice
  3. Be able to evaluate own performance
