- Environments can support play in several ways, including:
- Having a variety of activities and resources available for the children
- Giving children freedom to move between activities
- Having support from practitioners (including learning/development support and emotional support)
- Ensuring that children are safe and secure and that they feel comfortable
- Free-flow between indoor and outdoor spaces
- Planned activities that support a child’s learning and development
- Separate areas for different activities (e.g. small world play, dressing up and roleplay, blockbuilding, painting etc.)
