- A child’s wellbeing and personal circumstances can have a dramatic affect on their learning and development (both positively and negatively)
- E.g. children that feel safe and secure will be more confident and curious and want to explore the world around them
- E.g. children that have been abused or neglected may be wary around adults and withdraw themselves from others
- E.g. children with additional needs will need more support to learn and develop
- E.g. families that are in poverty may not be able to provide their child with the healthy diet they need for their physical development – similarly, issues such as damp can affect a child’s health
