  • A child’s environment can distort their perception of their own mental health.
  • If a child is raised being taught that mental health does not exist and are usually surrounded by individual’s who are unable to express their emotions properly, it can negatively affect a child’s thought patterns and views and deteriorate their mental health further.
  • This especially affects young boys because society often tells them that they are ‘weak’ and ‘unmanly’ if they ever cry or express emotions.
