  • Education = Schools and other education systems hold all responsibilities of children and young people whilst under their care. Therefore education systems must identify and recognise when an individual may need extra help or support and realise if they need to get other help involved such as the police or mental health services that would benefit in the child’s best interest.
  • Care provision = Care providers have their own guidelines they must follow that includes supporting an individual and providing them with the best care they need. This could include recognising their problems and finding the best plan of action that is suitable and needed for the individual.
  • The criminal justice system = Under the criminal justice system children are seen as vulnerable and often known to already be experiencing a series of mental health problems. Due to this, the criminal justice system hold a duty of care that provides the individual with the help and support they need and give them guidance on how to approach and deal with their situation.
