- Rights = The Human Rights Act (2008) makes it the law to treat every human being equally. This prevents discrimination occurring against individuals due to their behaviour. It gives all humans no matter their circumstances or characteristics the same rights.
- Safeguarding = The Care Act (2014) promotes individuals well being and gives individuals struggling the help and support they need such as support workers or care facilities.
- Deprivation of liberty = A legislation created in 2009 that allows specialists to make decisions for individuals who are deemed as a harm to themselves or others or incapable of consenting and making their own decisions.
