• A reactive strategy removes either the individual or others from a situation which may reduce likelihood of behaviour that challenges occurring.
• The strategy should be dealt with in a calm manner to not escalate the situation.
• Different strategies work for different individuals, some of these strategies could be removing the individual from the situation or finding a distraction so the individual is less focused on the trigger.
