  • E.g. two individuals with autism that have similar interests could provide peer support for one another and help to build theirsocial skills
  • E.g. a support group for parents of children that have autism can provide a sharing of sympathy, understanding and advice and help them to understand that they are not alone
  • E.g. Friends and relations (e.g. grandparents, aunts, uncles etc.) may take individuals with autism out on day trips, creating happy memories for them as well as providing the parents with some respite
