Standard 7: Resources

This unit is part of the Manager Induction Standards and has the following learning outcomes and assessment criteria:

1. 7.1. Resource management
   1. 7.1.1. List a range of resources for which you have responsibility
   2. 7.1.2. Explain the importance of using sustainable resources and your role in promoting this in your setting
   3. 7.1.3. Describe how to order / acquire resources in known area of responsibility
   4. 7.1.4. Explain the importance of identifying priority areas for resource allocation in your own area of responsibility
2. 7.2. Finance management
   1. 7.2.1. Outline your own responsibility and accountability for financial management
   2. 7.2.2. Describe the finance management systems within your own work setting / organisation
   3. 7.2.3. Outline sources of funding that are used to construct the budget in your own area of responsibility
3. 7.3. Human resource management
   1. 7.3.1. Describe the relationship between the staff structure and service outcomes
   2. 7.3.2. Explain how to manage appropriate staffing in a fluid environment / situation
4. 7.4. Value based recruitment and retention polices
   1. 7.4.1. Describe the importance of effective value based recruitment in resource management
   2. 7.4.2. Describe the importance of ensuring employment practices are free from discrimination and harassment in your service
   3. 7.4.3. Identify induction requirements for the staff for whom you have responsibility
   4. 7.4.4. Describe the impact of effective professional development on recruitment and retention issues
5. 7.5. Performance management of the service
   1. 7.5.1. Explain how to capture and analyse data and information from a range of sources to understand performance of the service that you manage
   2. 7.5.2. Explain how the information collected might be synthesised to reflect, review and improve services and resource management
