• Values-based recruitment is an approach to recruiting staff that share the same or similar values to the organisation
• This can support effective resource management because:
  • recruitment costs can be cut because the right candidates will be attracted to the position
  • employees will already have a good understanding of the values of the organisation
  • employees will be less likely to make mistakes because their decisions and actions will be based on the same underlying values
  • employees may require less training
  • employees will have more job satisfaction, which can result in lower levels of staff turnover and better performance
