- The personalisation agenda in recent decades means that all health and care workers must take a person-centred approach to their work
- This means that each individual’s unique needs, wishes and preferences must be accommodated when planning and delivering health and care services
- Person-centred values include respect, dignity, privacy, independence, partnership-working, choice, individuality and empowerment
- This approach is enshrined in legislation and regulation which includes the Care Act 2014, the Health and Care Act 2008/2012 and the Care Quality Commission’s Fundamental Standards
