• Symptoms can cause an individual and others distress because:
  • They may not look like the person they used to be
  • They may not have the same attitudes that they used to have
  • They may not be as independent as they once were
  • They may be experiencing pain, discomfort and/or restlessness
  • Bad breath, dry lips, mouth sores (due to poor oral hygiene)
  • Breathlessness, nausea and vomiting – can be uncomfortable/painful for the individual and distressing to family.
