- Early Years Practitioners should have a good rapport with the parents/carers of children and encourage them to take an active role in their child’s play, learning and development
- This can support the development of the child by ensuring they have consistency across the home and setting environments
- Some things apractitioner may do in this regard include:
- Providing information to parents about their childs current stage of development and their next steps
- Sharing ideas and activities about how the next steps of the development may be encouraged
- Explaining the importance of taking an interest in the child’s development and providing praise and encouragement
- Providing resources (e.g. books etc.) that may be taken home
