- For this assessment criterion, you will be required to perform several observations in line with current frameworks
- Each observation should focus on a specific area
- You should use a range of observation methods that have been explored here
- An individual child (e.g. observe the child’s physical development, record as a free description and assess if it is line with their expected stage of development)
- A group of children (e.g. create a sociogram to get a picture of the social relationships within the setting)
- Indoor provision (e.g. use a child tracker to see which areas of the setting children are most interested in and which areas are often left negected)
- Outdoor provision (e.g. use an event sample to see how often the sandpit is used by children)
