• Healthcare workers must have a good understanding of infection prevention and control and use a range of techniques in this area, including:
  • Correct handwashing technique
  • Wearing a laundered uniform
  • Keeping nails trimmed and clean
  • Tying up long hair
  • How to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cleaning soiled clothing and linen (on a hot wash)
  • Washing hands and changing PPE between clients
  • Correct storage and disposal of contaminated waste
