• Because health and safety in the workplace is everybody’s responsibility, there must be systems and processes in place to ensure that there is a culture of health and safety within an organisation
• Ways that health and safety can be promoted include:
  • Mandatory training
  • Accessible policies and procedures (including risk assessment processes and protocols for reporting concerns)
  • Ensuring employees follow policies and procedures and having robust quality assurance processes
  • Being a role model for best practices
  • The correct storage, use and disposal of resources
  • Processes for addressing unsafe practices
  • Encouraging everyone to take reasonable care of the safety of themselves and others
  • Following manufacturer’s instructions on equipment and adhering to warning labels
