• Risk assessment is the process of identifying hazards and then assessing the associated risk that could potentially be caused.
• The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) describe 5 steps to risk assessment. They are:
  1. Identify the hazard
  2. Describe who might be harmed and why
  3. Evaluate the risks and identify precautions
  4. Record findings and implement recommendations
  5. Review the risk assessment periodically
