  • Personalised service – service provision takes into consideration the needs wishes and preferences of the care reciever
  • Self-commissioned service – an individual commissions their own care services, funded by a personal budget (through a direct payment) provided by the local authority
  • Self-directed support – an individual assesses their own needs and determines the support they need
  • Micro-employer – an employer with 5 or fewer staff. An individual that commissions their own care and support (e.g. pays a small team of carers to fulfil their support needs directly) is classed as a micro-employer.
