- Suspicions or disclosures of abuse must be reported to your manager or safeguarding lead
- If a disclosure, reassure the child and ensure their immediate safety
- Do not ask leading questions as this could impede a future criminal investigation
- Make a written record of what has happened
- Your manager/safeguarding lead must investigate the claim and inform relevant agencies (e.g. social services, police etc.)
