• According to this SCIE report, the values and principles of adult care service provision are:
  • independence
  • citizenship
  • empowerment
  • social inclusion
  • respect for diversity
  • care and protection for vulnerable people/children and young people and the community
• We may also look at person-centred values and CQC’s fundamental standards aswell as the 6Cs of nursing
• These values and principles guide how we should provide services
• E.g. we should provide services that empower individuals to be independent rather than srvices that result in them being passive receivers of care
