• Emerging themes and trends that can impact management and leadership in health and social care include:
  • Skills for Care are working to ensure that the next generation of leaders and managers have the right knowledge, skills and understanding (e.g. Manager Induction Standards etc.)
  • The Health and Care Act 2022 introduces legislation that supports collaboration and partnership-working to integrate services for patients – this means that managers must work in closer collaboration with others
  • Staff turnover in health and social is higher than any other sector, so managers have challenges with the recruitment and retainment of staff
