• Factors that influence policy drivers in relation to leadership and management in health and social care can include:
  • Safeguarding Adult Reviews – may highlight serious failings by leaders and managers that have resulted in abuse or harm, such as not providing sufficient training to staff, not providing adequate supervision, or not taking complaints seriously
  • Similarly, national enquiries (such as the Francis Inquiry) may identify leadership failings
  • Surveys, questionnaires and complaints can be used to identify areas that need to be improved
