• A strengths-based assessment process will begin with agreeing the purpose of the assessment (e.g. to support a young adult with a disability to learn the skills they need to live as independently as possible)
• This should be performed in collaboration individual to maintain a person-centred approach
• Others may include the individual’s family and friends, their advocate and other professionals, such as their psychologist, doctor, social worker etc.
