- Care and support providers should ensure that they work with individuals in a way that considers all aspects of their wellbeing, including their history, preferences, wishes, needs and strengths
- Therefore principles, including outcomes-based and person-centred practices, should be ingrained into an organisation’s culture
- To develop this type of culture, within an organisation, managers and leaders can:
- Document the values of the organisation and ensure that all team members understand them
- Implement values-based recruiting, where staff are employed based on sharing similar values to the organisation
- Ensuring team members have sufficient training and supervision
- Discussing values and principles during team meetings
- Role-modelling best practices
