• There are several ways that information management systems may be evaluated in order to identify improvements or alternative approaches, including:
  • Investigation of incidents where there has been unauthorized access to data, identifying the failings and taking action to ensure that the same thing does not happen again
  • Requesting feedback from staff, clients, carers, relatives and others
  • As part of regular quality assurance processes
  • Hiring third parties to assess existing systems and offer recommendations
