  • Key features of effective team leadership include:
    • Mutual trust and respect – leaders must promote bonds of trust and respect between team members and themselves
    • Effective communication – includes listening to and valuing the views of others as well as skills in compromise and negotiation
    • Shared goals and values – although team members will have different perspectives, it is important that they are in agreement about their purpose
    • Positivity – team leaders should foster positivity amongst the team members and inspire them to achieve their potential
    • Support – team leaders should provide support, encouragement and guidance to the team members
