- Restrictive practices are practices which restrict the rights or the freedom of movement of a person
- Restraint is a method of restricting an individual’s freedom of movement
- Hidden restraint is a method of restraint that is not immediately recognisable
- An individual being afraid to move for fear of reprisals or an individual that is being covertly sedated are examples of hidden restraint
