- Key principles of what makes supervision effective can include:
- Supervisees having the opportunity to discuss their practice – this may not be practical in busy environments that do not I’m schedule protected time I’m for supervision
- Supervisees feel supported in their role and are able to raise concerns
- Similarly, supervisors are able to address concerns about a supervisee’s performance
- Supervisees can discuss, plan and be accountable for their learning and development
- Bi-directional feedback can be given which can aid learning and development
- Team members continuously improve their practice over time
- Team members work in line with legislation, regulations and best practices
- Supervisees have the opportunity to offload any experiences and difficulties they have had which can contribute to their mental health and well-being
