- Core values are the guiding principles that embody an organisation’s purpose and direction
- Examples of organisational values include honesty, empathy, teamwork and a commitment to excellence
- Leaders will decide on the values that are important to an organisation – they may also ask others such as employees, managers and clients about what they think the values should be
- Leaders will then inspire others to understand these values and embed them into the workplace culture
- Managers will ensure that those values are written into policy
- Managers will support employees to understand and use organisational values
- Both leaders and managers should consider the organisation’s values when making complex decisions
