- In the previous section, we explored the concepts of leadership and management
- Although they are different, they are also interdependent
- Management is needed in care settings to plan, organise and execute the workload
- Without management, employees will not know what to do and there will be inconsistencies in the service they provide
- Leadership is needed in care settings to ensure that the organisation continuously innovates, has a strategic vision and that employees are motivated to carry out their work in line with the organisation’s values and beliefs
- Without leadership, employees would not be inspired to reach their potential
