• Individuals should always be supported to make their own choices unless their is compelling evidence that their capacity to make a decision is impaired
• All reasonable steps should be taken to support them to do this
• You should provide all the data an individual needs to make an informed choice for themselves
• This means being objective and factual and not letting your own personal beliefs influence their decision
