  • Equality Act 2010 – sets out 9 protected characteristics that makes it unlawful to discriminate against (gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, age, race, religion, marriage/civil partnership, maternity/pregnancy, disability)
  • Human Rights Act 1998 – sets out freedoms and liberties that all citizens are entitled to
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005 – protects individuals that may not have the capacity to make decisions for themselves
  • Code of Conduct for Adult Care Workers – sets the standard that all adult care workers must uphold and promote equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Your employer will also have organisational policies relating to equality, diversity and inclusion
