• When communicating with others, you should establish the communication needs, wishes and preferences of the individual
• The best communication methods for an individual will be documented in their care pla, so you should be familiar with this
• You may also ask for advice from an individual’s family or your co-workers
• And,of course, you will want to ask the individual themselves how they prefer to communicate as well as observing their body language and facial expressions
