• Sources of support for staff in end-of-life situations can include:
  • Peer support – team members support one another through difficult situations
  • Support from the manager – informally as well as formally through supervision etc.
  • Support from GP in particularly difficult situations – may prescribe medication or refer to counselling services
  • Mentoring and coaching programmes – staff can get advice and guidance from more experienced co-workers
