• As individuals approach the end of their life, their awareness of spirituality may change
• They may take more comfort in their religious/cultural/spiritual beliefs
• They may wish to explore their spiritual beliefs in more depth, particularly those relating to death (e.g. concepts of heaven, reincarnation etc.)
• They may also wish to consult with religious leaders and communities
• Some individuals may reject or reconsider previous deeply-held beliefs
