Unit 384 Supporting healthy relationships

This unit is one of the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care Optional Units and has the following learning outcomes and assessment criteria:

  1. 1 Be able to support and enable communication, rapport and choice between individuals and others
    1. 1.1 Describe ways to enable the development of rapport and positive relationships
    2. 1.2 Demonstrate rapport and positive relationships when supporting individuals
    3. 1.3 Support rapport between others and the individuals they support
    4. 1.4 Enable individuals to make informed choices about relationships
    5. 1.5 Evaluate the benefits to the individual of having positive relationships
  2. 2 Be able to support and encourage individuals to develop and maintain safe, healthy friendships and relationships
    1. 2.1 Outline the rights of individuals to have and maintain relationships
    2. 2.2 Describe barriers that may be faced by individuals who wish to have friendships and relationships
    3. 2.3 Describe how to overcome barriers
    4. 2.4 Demonstrate ways of supporting and encouraging individuals to maintain positive relationships
    5. 2.5 Explain how to support and encourage individuals to keep safe in relationships
    6. 2.6 Evaluate the effects of relationships on individuals’ well-being
  3. 3 Understand how to discuss sexual relationships, sexual health and keeping safe with people they support

    2. 3.2 Identify appropriate sources of information about sexual relationships, sexual health and keeping safe to share with individuals they support
