- Providing reassurance and information about the transition to children and parents/carers
- Discussing feelings about the transition and what to expects in a one-to-one or group setting
- Facilitating visits from teachers or visits to the school
- Telling stories, roleplay or small world play relating to the transition
- Ensuring the school has information about each child, including their level of development, interests and any special educational needs
