• A language-rich environment is a space that supports children to develop language and literacy skills
• To develop a language-rich environment for children, some of the things that you should consider include;
  • Accessible resources, such as books and writing materials
  • A safe, secure and caring environment so that children feel comfortable and ready to explore and learn
  • Opportunituies for song and rhyme
  • Opportunities for interaction and communication with adults and peers
  • Encouragement from adults to develop their language and literacy skills
  • Signs, posters, name badges and other opportunities to see words
