• All observations should be evaluated to assess the child’s development in relation to expected developmental stages, current frameworks and theoretical perspectives
• Expected developmental stages:
  • Assessments should be linked to the expected developmental stage of a child for their age – these have been explored in previous units
• Current frameworks:
  • Assessments should be linked to the EYFS and Early Learning Goals
• Theoretical perspectives:
  • Assessments should be linked to relevant theoretical perspectives that have been discussed in previous units
