• It is important for practiotioners to have close working relationships with the parents/carers of all children
• This will facilitate the sharing of information and ensure that there is consistency between the home and early years settings
• Practitioners should explain the importance of parents/carers taking an active role in their child’s play, learning and development
• Practitioners may offer professional advice to parents and carers and may provide resources that the child can take home
