  • An Early Years setting should be designed to promote the personal, social and emotional development of children. Ways that thos can be achieved include:
    • Having accessible facilities for children, such as low toilets and sinks so that they can practice basic hygiene to increase their independence
    • Providing children with choice – this caninclude a choice of activities and ‘free-flow’ between indoor and outdoor environments
    • Maintaining a clean, tidy and visually appealing environment – this can include having children’s artwork displayed on the walls to show that their talents are recognised and valued
