- The Equality Act 2010 and Human Rights Act 1998 also legislate that children should have equal opportunities to participate in activities and should not be discriminated against or excluded
- Children with additional needs may require extra support to have the same opportunities to participate as other children
- Individual children’s unique needs and interests should be considered
- The setting should also ensure that children are not excluded by their peers – this could be ptomoted through discussions, supervision, role-modelling etc.
