- Early Years Practitioners should support parents to take an active role in their child’s play, learning and develpment
- This is a requirement of the EYFS
- This could mean giving advice and ideas to parents about how they can engage with their child at home – similarly, parents should be encouraged to share their child’s home experiences with the setting
- Some early yers settings may lend out learning and development resources to parents and carers, such as books and toys
- Parents and carers may be invited into the setting to play with and perform activities with their child
- Newsletters, notice boards and leaflets may be used to support parents in helping with their child’s learning and development
