Assessment criteria: 4.2 Identify forms for completion in the event of: accidents, incidents, emergencies

  • Your setting will have forms that must be completed in the event of an accident, incident or emergency
  • An accident is when a child or adult is injured in some way
  • An incident is an event that does not cause injury but carries enough risk to merit it being documented
  • An emergency is a ptentially life-threatening situation
  • All accidents, incicents and emergencies must be recorded
  • Records must be accurate, detailed, up-to-date, factual and legible
  • Time and date as well as the name and signature of the recorder should be documented
