  • Confidentiality is important in Early Years settings and the privacy of both children and families must be respected
  • However, if there are concerns or suspicions of abuse, staff may need to break confidentiality and share information with others
  • This should only be carried out on a ‘need-to-know’ basis (e.g. information shoukd only be shared with the individuals/agencies that need to know it to protect the welfare of the child)
