- Pre-conception experiences – lifestyle choices, such as smoking, alcohol, drigs, diet and general health and fitness of the mother can affect the development of a baby
- Pre-birth experiences – if the lifestyle choices above continue, it can have a negative affect of the baby, infections may also affect the baby
- Birth experiences – premature birth, caesarian section, the mental health of the mother following birth and genetic conditions may affect the baby’s development
