• When a child takes ill in a setting, you should follow your employer’s policies and procedures
• Common actions include:
  • Child will require reassurance and support
  • Child may need to be isolated from other children to prevent the spread of infection
  • Parents/carers may need to be called to collect their child
  • Urgent medical advice may need to be obtained directly (e.g. by calling 999 or 111)
