  • Play can be therapeutic to children and support their recovery
  • It can help them to express themselves, process their experiences, build strength and mobility and increase their confidence
  • It can also be used to by pediatric staff to understand how a child is feeling and where they may require additional support
  • Pediatric wards will often have a dedicated playroom, with suitably qualified staff
  • For children that are confined to their beds, toys and other resources will often be brought to them
