  • A child’s Key Person will usually be tasked with identifying the needs of a child, including needs associated with their emotional wellbeing
  • Partnership working will be key to this process, particularly working closely with the child’s family to share information about the child
  • Working in partnership with other agencies and professionals may also be required, for example exchanging information with a child’s social worker or SEND worker
  • Regular observation is also a great way of identifying a child’s emotional needs and unexpected changes to their previous behaviour may indicate that a child is unhappy or worried about something
