  • Pre-pregnancy
    • Establishes good eating habits for the future
    • Builds up reserves of nutrients
    • Increases likelihood of conception
  • Pregnancy
    • Some foods should be avoided to prevent illness (e.g. raw eggs and meat, soft cheeses, unpasteurised dairy products, shark, swordfish, liver, peanuts etc.)
    • Aids development in the womb
  • Breastfeeding
    • A healthy balanced diet ensures baby gets all the nutrients they need
    • Unless advised by GP, there are no special dietary requirements whilst breastfeeding
